Our summer trip-Part 2
While we were in Atlanta, we stayed busy! We went to this awesome children's museum, Stone Mountain (a huge mountain that is granite), and had lots of fun playing with other family members.
This is the top of Stone Mountain where I literally had a panic attack about one of the kids falling.
The kids were sure that this was a giant dinosaur footprint...even though we tried to explain that it was where water eroded the rock. I guess their explanation is way more exciting! And that sent Caleb off hunting for fossils! Just sure he would find them!
I snapped this picture while Caleb was hunting for fossils...because we rode the gondola up to the top and hiked down. I did not like the gondola. Too many people...too much tight space...no air...etc. etc. The next few pics are of us hiking down the 1,000 feet to the bottom.
There were a lot of things we did there! We rode the train that circled the bottom and rode a duck boat...which was a truck that drove into this huge lake and became a boat! They gave us these annoying but super cute quacking duck bills...
Stone Mountain was a full day of fun and exercise. I could post a lot more pics, but I won't! Next, we went to a Children's Museum in downtown and the kids loved it! They loved the shopping carts most, and Abby asked if I would buy it for her birthday...she loved it!
We also made a stop by the very first Chick-Fil-A ever...The Dwarf House...
We ate way too much ice cream...but it makes for good pics!
We also spent some time with DS's brother, sister, and even his nephew! Whom the kids adore! Poor kid...he is 15 and was so good to the annoying little 5 and 3 year old that hung onto him every second he was around! He is a good sport!
