Happy Easter!

I know...I am the only one who probably will even read this, as I have been a very bad blogger...when you only blog twice a year, no one is going to read it. But, I do try and get on here to update things every once in awhile, because like I have said, this is one way to record my family's happenings for my kiddos. I don't scrapbook, I don't keep up on their "boxes" the way I should, and so this is one more way to record memories.

With that being said...here are some fun pictures of Easter! Well, the day before anyway! We started out on Good Friday with a new family tradition. We made breakfast and all sat down together to read the story of Jesus' crucifixion. Then, we had a fun day of playing games, swimming, and Caleb and daddy played tennis together. Today, Saturday, we dyed Easter Eggs, and went on an Easter Egg "Hunt" at the community park. I say hunt lightly because none of the eggs were hidden. It was a fun time for all!

Caleb's sixth Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Caleb! The time has come and gone again...wow! Six years! I am amazed that it has gone by so quickly! This year was the first year I let him have a party that wasn't at home. On Sunday, we had just family over to the house to celebrate his birthday. Then, on Monday, the 21st, his actual birthday, we headed to Mukutu's Island. He was allowed to invite the boys from his class, and his cousins, and of course his sister. It was a boy only party (except his sister and cousin, Bella). The boys ran and ran and ran some more! They screamed so loud when they sang happy birthday that he had to cover his ears. The deal was that he would forgo a present from mom and dad if he had a birthday at a "place" instead of a home party. It also meant he was limited on how many kids he could invite. But, he has been begging for a party at Mukutu's for two years now. I must admit, it was so nice to walk away from the mess. However, now the mess of all the presents, left-over pizza, and left-over cake is all over my house! Those crazy boys had fun and Caleb loved having his big cousin, Ashton, along for two days of the craziness! Now...time to focus on Christmas!!!

Playing around in Grandma's yard

So, I haven't had much time for picture taking or blogging lately. Between working full-time and being a mom and a wife I seem to barely have time to sleep! But, this week has been a nice and much-needed break. One day, we went over to Grandma's house, took her to a birthday lunch, and ended up at the park. Before we left, I got some really cute pics of all the kids together. I love the one of Chloe (Kelly's little girl) and Caleb laying on the floor. Caleb was singing to her while we waited for Grandma to get ready. She was soaking it up! I think he loved it too!!

Evergreen Lake!

On Wednesday, we headed over to Evergreen Lake for a picnic. It was so beautiful there, and the kids enjoyed running around. My mom, sister, and I were all taken aback by the beauty and green all around us. The kids wouldn't stop climbing on this statue, so we finally decided just to make it a photo opportunity!
