I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day. We had fun eating and playing this weekend. Of course, for us, Labor Day does not mean the end of summer, but it does mean we only have a month or two left of 100 degree weather...then comes the nice 70 and 80 degree winters. That makes it all worth it! :)

It was so nice to have a day to play as a family...I was bummed when I had to come home and grade papers for a couple of hours, but hey, it was all worth it! :)

Where have you been?

I am here...I have had a couple of people ask if I am around because it seems my blog is frozen in time! :) I don't mean to ignore it, but this "working mom" stuff is not easy! It has been two weeks now, and it is definitely hard to balance...and my sleep anxiety this week has been evident to that! I thought I could catch up on my sleep this weekend, but to no avail. C had a 103 temp all night, and kept us up...then Abs decided to start screaming she was scared at 5:20...and I haven't slept since. Maybe tonight...

Other than sleep issues, I have actually really enjoyed being back on my game. The reason why I chose teaching in the first place is that it fits my personality perfectly. I knew I had been missing it for quite awhile, but I really have felt in my element this past week. It has been nice to work my brain, and I love "getting things done". Because I knew time was crunched, I spent all day yesterday doing laundry and cleaning...so my entire house is clean at once. This would not have happened even two weeks ago. I use to just clean one or two things a day...so it was never "dirty" but it never was all cleaned at once. It is one of the best feelings to me...to have all my work done for the week (okay, well most done), and to have my "house" work done...ahhhhh....maybe tonight, I will sleep a full eight hours!

More Birthday Celebrations!

We must have a family party...and that was just what we did! Needless to say, I am kind of birthday'd out right now! Luckily, Caleb's isn't for several months! Abby and Parker celebrated together since they share the same bday (he is one year older). I think they had a great time, and enjoyed their new presents. Abby absolutely loved her new little dog that Rachel gave her. I tried to include some pics of adults too...which I rarely do! :)

Happy Birthday Abby...until next year and we do it all over again!

Abby's Birthday!

We started the day with a candle in a muffin...which she loved (as did brother). Then, we headed to the mall to do build-a-bear with my nephews and some of our close friends (Abby was born on my nephew's one year old birthday--so they are exactly one year apart). The experience was slightly overwhelming for her, but she loved it! We then went on to Red Robin for dinner with the family. It was a busy day but a fun one!
